Vehicles in Germany's Town Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Officers mentioned they were alerted by a man who found a car in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Approximately fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.

Law enforcement say they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they added.

Police then found many other smeared vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Police state preliminary tests suggest the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no lead as to its source; officials are presently not informed of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they commented.

Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to solve the incident" and have requested to the residents for details.

A high-ranking official commented the vandalism left him stunned and required to be addressed quickly.

"This act affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on social media, recalling the murder of nine victims by a assailant aiming at people of migrant background in five years prior.
